tigerdirect or UPS...
posted Tuesday August 3, 2004 @ 23:04 by nightwolf Rants

so i get my new AMD combo today...

set it all up, no boot. finally narrow it down to NO CPU. it comes as a pre-assembled combo with cpu and heatsink already installed. friends that got the same combo had no problem with a cpu being there.

ok so i borrow a cpu till i can call and bitch them out tomorrow... go to boot it up, need raid drivers for the sata drives, and none of my machines decide to have a working floppy drive, like wtf!

so ill update this tomorrow when more fun happens. i was also going to burn some cds for co-workers, but i ran out of time tonight grrrr.

so i called Tiger Direct, heres the sequence:

- call TD support
- passed to customer service
- passed to American branch
- passed to customer service
- given a 1-888 number and disconnected.

- I call that 1-888 number but it can only be reached from USA, not Canada (the number you have called cannot be reached from your area code 2KC)

- go through the same loop again at Tiger Direct (they have no toll-free number for their American branch)
- I tell them I cant reach the number they gave me, they said 'theres nothing more I can do to help you'

- so I dig for email addresses to contact for help from AMD...
- finally get some response from AMD, they are looking into it.

Reinforces why I never would buy from Tiger Direct again, espically after my experience with them before this.
