Need some advice
posted Monday September 12, 2005 @ 08:11 by theferg

Hey everyone...

I'm thinking about buying a portable mp3 player and wanted some advice (especially from the computer nerds - you know who you are. FOR MY BASIC NEEDS, what do you think would be the best buy? I don't need anything that takes pictures or will organize my life, I just want something that will hold at least 500 songs and is easy to use, good battery life etc. So far in my research from only 2 stores that only narrows it down to about 50 different kinds!!! I'm also a visual learner, so having a lot of screen lines is best.

I also have this thing about name brand electronics. I just hate buying something I've never heard of before...name brands are a comfort zone for me. The iPod mini grabs my attention cuz it also has 4 or 5 games, and with an 8 hour flight to England coming up that would be an asset. I just don't know if its worth paying $250 bucks for it. I may turn to the eBay guru for this deal, but I only have a month so it needs to be quickish.

So ya, if anyone already has one and really likes it, or if anyone has extensive knowledge about a certain brand please learn me up :) I don't know why I might need flash vs hard drive, stuff like that.

THANK YOU ALL! :)
Steph

I agree. Ipod Nano should be just what you're looking for. 500 songs, games, tiny size, 14 hour run time on a charge and simple to use.

ok, i saw a few on ebay for sale..do you think thats the best way to get one? heh, i was thinking you guys wouldn't be into the ipod cuz you often dislike mainstream things, simply because they're mainstream :)

id go with either an apple ipod or creative muvo. for you, i think the ipod is the easiest to use.

While it is mainstream, you can't beat the ease of use and support for them from what I hear. Reliability and usability are hard to find among the Ipod's competitors...
