From the 'small white lies in supersized sizes' department..
posted Wednesday June 30, 2004 @ 13:30 by bigass News

Ok, no more computers for another week and a half. Well, maybe that's a tiny white lie..

I've got one final behemoth task ahead of completely overhauling the network at work, and then it's off to the cottage for binge drinking and fishing! Hope everyone enjoys their canada day holiday, cause I'm working for the next 3 days. It's going to be a real pain the in ass getting this conversion done. We're going NT4/Exch5.5 -> Server2003 Active Directory/Exch2003, but have loads of legacy apps with quirky DCOM implementations and a full fleet of workstations that have exchange2002 with hosted stores on the 5.5 install. Not to mention that our existing IMC is hosted on a seperate server running a single Pentium 150mhz. Time consuming fun!

I've gotten no sleep, but making great progress on getting the basement finished. I'm now looking for good desk/office designs for more those who want to accomodate 3 monitors, a couple of workstations, one very hot gaming machine and lots of cables eventually connecting it all to a 'media center' with a HTPC and 47-60 inch display w/Dolby 5.1 - I found a good place to start was here. Also, Powell has informed me that I don't nearly have enough natural light in the basement.. gotta figure a way around that ;-)

I'm sure by the time that we're done that I'm going to be ready to get away from computers for a while. Oh wait, damn Powell wants me to bring my notebook so we can take pictures to our hearts content. Well, it was a good thought that I could go somewhere without a minimum of 4 technology devices. Party at Josh's tonight, so I'm going to put an invitation on the internet just to for him (an me, hehe). If any hot halo-playing internet girls want to come, feel free to bring your girl friends too.

*Also note that I trimmed this post down to a mere pamphelt instead of a novel. ;-)

I saw my name and so I read it.
3 LCD's, you going to use the corner for that or just a wall?

What can I say, I like natural light, it doesnt buzz, burnout, or heat up like a red-head in the sun.

Not that I have a problem with the later hehe. I'm probably going to get arm mounts for them and set them up to hang over the middle of the desk from the wall, closer to one side. Unless there's a better solution that I can come across.

I've seen that.. and I like it, but my wallet ran off and hid in the corner, as did my sense of budget whenever I browsed their site.
